About Englewood, CO
Englewood is a close-knit city of approximately 34,000 people situated just south of Denver in Arapahoe County. Long known for its strong sense of community and convenient access to the greater metro area, Englewood has experienced significant revitalization in recent years, yet like communities throughout Colorado, Englewood faces real and growing mental health needs.
Rates of anxiety, depression, and substance co-occurring disorders have climbed statewide, and access to qualified psychiatric providers remains a challenge for many. Cottonwood Psychiatry’s virtual practice directly addresses that gap, giving Englewood residents access to board-certified psychiatric care without the traditional barriers of geography, office hours, or lengthy referral processes.
Medication Management
Psychiatric medication, when carefully prescribed and monitored, can be a powerful component of mental health treatment. Cottonwood Psychiatry takes a thorough, measured approach to medication management, beginning with a detailed evaluation of your history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals before prescribing. We view medication as one tool among many, and we stay actively involved in your progress, adjusting over time to ensure your treatment continues to serve you well.
Therapy
Cottonwood Psychiatry offers a range of evidence-based modalities designed to address the root causes of distress, build practical coping skills, and support long-term emotional health. Therapy sessions are conducted entirely online, giving Englewood residents the privacy and convenience of attending from home, during a lunch break, or between school pickups. All sessions are conducted virtually, giving Englewood residents the flexibility to prioritize their mental health without rearranging their entire day. Progress looks different for everyone, and care is adjusted thoughtfully over time to support meaningful, lasting growth.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps patients become more aware of how patterns of thinking influence emotional responses and daily behaviors. By developing more balanced and realistic perspectives, individuals can reduce distress and improve their ability to navigate challenges with greater confidence.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on helping patients manage emotional intensity while improving communication and relationships. Through skill-building techniques such as mindfulness and distress tolerance, patients learn to respond to difficult situations with greater control and clarity.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) supports patients in building a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions. Rather than struggling against discomfort, this approach encourages individuals to stay present and take meaningful steps toward goals that reflect their personal values.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy explores the deeper emotional patterns and past experiences that may shape current behaviors and relationships. By increasing self-awareness and understanding, patients can work through underlying issues and create more lasting, meaningful change.
