About Denver, CO
Denver, the capital of Colorado, is a dynamic and fast-growing city known for its blend of urban living and outdoor lifestyle. Situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Denver offers residents access to world-class dining, cultural attractions, and endless recreational opportunities. Neighborhoods throughout the city provide a mix of historic charm and modern development, attracting professionals, families, and students alike.
While Denver’s active and opportunity-filled environment is appealing, it can also come with unique stressors. Like many major cities, Denver has seen increasing demand for mental health services, and accessing timely care can be challenging. Virtual care options help bridge that gap, offering flexible, convenient support that fits into the rhythm of city life.
Medication Management
Medication management at Cottonwood Psychiatry is a personalized and collaborative process. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand each patient’s symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle. When medication is appropriate, it is carefully selected and adjusted over time to ensure effectiveness while minimizing side effects. Ongoing follow-ups allow for consistent monitoring and refinement, helping patients achieve stability and improved quality of life.
Therapy
Cottonwood Psychiatry offers virtual therapy services to support emotional well-being and personal growth. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while building practical coping strategies. Care is grounded in evidence-based approaches in order to reframe negative thought patterns, encourage emotional regulation and mindfulness, and promote values-based goals. Each approach is tailored to the individual, ensuring therapy aligns with personal goals and needs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps patients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and actions. By learning how to challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced perspectives, individuals can reduce distress and develop healthier, more productive behavioral patterns.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is particularly effective for those who experience overwhelming emotions or difficulty coping with stress. It combines acceptance and change strategies, teaching skills that improve emotional control, increase self-awareness, and strengthen relationships with others.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping individuals move forward even in the presence of uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT supports patients in clarifying their values and taking meaningful action that aligns with the life they want to live.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy takes a deeper look at long-standing emotional patterns and the ways early experiences shape current relationships and behaviors. Through this process, patients gain insight that can lead to improved self-understanding, healthier coping mechanisms, and lasting personal growth.
